Our goal is to help
you track your ancestors through time
by transcribing genealogical and
historical data and placing it online
for the free use of all researchers.
If you are
interested in joining our group by
hosting one of the available county
websites, view our Volunteer
Page for further
information about us
[A
desire to transcribe data and
knowledge of how to make a basic
webpage is required.]
We regret that we are unable to perform personal research for you. All data we come across is added to this site, so please keep checking back!

Ferry County
Information
Founded
February 21, 1899
County Seat: Republic
Largest city: Republic

It
was named after Elisha P. Ferry, the
state's first governor.
Ferry County was created out of Stevens County on February 21, 1899.
Most of the county is covered by the rugged Kettle River Range, which extends from the Canadian border at the north, all the way to its southernmost perimeter bounded by the Columbia River and LakeRoosevelt. Only a narrow north-south strip running the length of the county on the west between the San Poil River and the Okanogan County line is covered by the Okanogan Highland.
Except for the town of Republic, the county is very sparsely populated.
