Phillips County
Phillips County was organized in 1872. It was named for William Phillips, a Free-State supporter, who was murdered in Leavenworth. Besides the cities listed, the communities of Gretna, Speed, Stuttgart and Woodruff lie within the boundaries of Phillips County.

Phillipsburg is the county seat.
