LOOKUP VOLUNTEER!I would be glad to try to help anyone researching this area with genealogical info that I have here with in my home.I have access to old obituaries, my mom's prize possession is old Colfax newspapers dating back into the late 1880's to 1956. My mother was involved with the state and county genealogical societies and everytime she helped someone she kept a copy of the info. we say that she has over 1000 notebooks on different Jasper county families Nora gmaszoo@iowatelecom.net | County InformationIt was organized from Mahaska County in 1846 and is named after Sergeant William Jasper, Revolutionary War hero. The county seat is Newton.
