Steele County, North Dakota
Steele County was founded in 1883 from portions of Traill and Griggs Counties.
The county was named for Edward Steele of the Red River Land Company.
The original county seat was Sherbrooke. The county seat since 1919 is Finley.
As of the 2010 United States Census, the county population was 1,975
